This website is intended for teachers who wants to assist new non-English speaking students.
1. Welcome Pamphlets
These pamphlets welcome elementary school students from non-English speaking countries and help them to get used to American schools in their first few days of school. Teachers can print these out and distribute to students. The pamphlets contain basic survival phrases often used in schools in the new students' native languages that students can point to when they don't know how to say it in English, such as: "I am hungry", "classroom", and "I don't understand". They include pictures so even small kids can use it. This would also be useful for teachers who want to communicate basic phrases to students. These pamphlets also include a page containing tips to make friends.

2. List of Phrases
Below is a button titled 'Encouraging Phrases' where teachers can learn some basic phrases that they can say to students to make them feel welcomed in the students' own languages. Phrases are currently in the following languages: Chinese/Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Telugu. Click below.
